Institute opens up to the academic community

Many faculties, especially those that teach natural, technical or biotechnical sciences, offer a course on professional practise for students in their final years of study. The aim is to supplement students’ theoretical knowledge with practical experience and thus better prepare them for the labour market. The practise takes place at the workplaces of employers who have signed an agreement on professional practise with the faculties.
Depending on the faculty and course, the work placement lasts between 40 and 120 hours. It involves the full participation of students in the work and the evaluation of their performance by mentors.
The Josip Juraj Strossmayer Water Institute is an ideal employer for carrying out the professional internship and offers students numerous professional, scientific and educational opportunities for students through its Main Water Laboratory. In addition to working in the laboratory, there are sectors such as the Monitoring Sector and the Sector for Strategic Planning, where students learn and work alongside mentors to assess water quality, prepare basics in the field of water management, participate in the scientific work of the Institute and much more.
To date, the Institute has signed professional practise agreements with nine faculties and departments at the University of Zagreb, the University of Split and the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek.
We congratulate our partners for choosing our Institute and invite others who recognise the benefits of such cooperation for their students!
