A collective agreement for the employees of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer Water Institute was signed on 28 May 2025.
The agreement was signed with two representative trade unions:

• PPDIV Croatia Trade Union – the Trade Union of employees in the agriculture, food industry, tobacco industry and water management in Croatia,
• Trade Union of Agriculture, Food Industry, and Water Management.
  Negotiations on the new collective agreement began on 19 February 2025 and four working sessions were held, further strengthening the partnership between the employer and the union and confirming the joint commitment to protecting workers’ rights and further improving working conditions.

The basic collective agreement for employees in the public sector applies to the employees of the Water Institute. The collective agreement for the employees of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer Water Institute additionally regulates the rights and obligations of employees that are not defined by the basic collective agreement for public sector employees or for which the basic collective agreement stipulates that they must be negotiated separately. This provides additional legal and social security for employees and improved working conditions.
