Swiss representatives visited the Main Water Laboratory

On Friday, 16 May 2025, Water Institute received representatives from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Office for Swiss Contributions at the Swiss Embassy in the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds (MRRFEU) and Croatian Waters. The visit was organised as part of the annual meeting of the Swiss-Croatian cooperation programme.
During the visit, the work of the Institute was presented, with special emphasis on the activities of the Main Water Laboratory. One of the topics discussed was the preparation of a new project as part of the second Swiss contribution, in which the Institute will take the lead for the educational component.
The project envisages the implementation of a training system for public water suppliers, which the Institute will carry out with the professional support of its Swiss partners – the Association of Swiss Water and Wastewater Experts, VSA (Verband Schweizer Abwasser- und Gewässerschutzfachleute).
This visit by Swiss representatives has further strengthened co-operation between Croatian and Swiss institutions and follows on from the study visit by representatives of the Institute and other relevant Croatian water management institutions to wastewater treatment plants in Switzerland at the end of last year.
