At the proposal of Hrvatske vode and the Josip Juraj Strossmayer Institute for Water, a new monitoring station, Novčica upstream of its confluence with the Lika River, was included in the monitoring programme. The station is important for monitoring the status of surface waters in the wider area surrounding the landfill in question.

The first sampling at the newly established monitoring station was carried out on 19 August 2026, and the laboratory analyses were completed on 25 August 2026.

The collected sample was analysed for the following target parameters: PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid and its derivatives), antimony, arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, zinc, and dissolved organic carbon (DOC).

The PFOS concentration was below the quantification limit of the analytical method applied (< 0.00065 µg/L).

The results of the analyses of the target parameters for which the Regulation on Water Quality Standards establishes applicable surface water quality standards do not indicate any exceedance of the prescribed values.
